Nepal _ day 11

An early morning walk through Thamel left the streets much quieter than normal. I saw a good amount of 'armed forces' on the trip but they always seemed pretty easy going. I actually saw them more in the mountains for people killing animals illegally and chopping down trees than in the streets of Kathmandu for anything.

A dog eating trash. I saw a lot of dogs eating trash as well as cows. Considering cows are holy and people go to jail for killing them, it seemed like a bit of a paradox to see an nearly dead cow on the side of the road eating trash.

The trash man

The back of a rickshaw

I think it's a goat

These meat counters literally sit on the sidewalk . I was simultaneously fascinated and scared by the sanitation.

I had breakfast at this restaurant that had the best service of anywhere I had been. I thought it was silly after having the most outrageously bad (but in a funny way) service from every other place I had been to.

After another interesting experience of figuring out the Tribhuvan airport in Kathmandu I was very happy to get on the plane
